Governor Rusli Asks Sandiaga's Support In Promoting Gorontalo Destinations Including Whale Shark Tourism
GORONTALO - Gorontalo Governor Rusli Habibie asked for support from the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno to promote a number of tourist destinations in the area.
According to him, the tourism sector is one of the eight priority programs of the Gorontalo Provincial Government. Various efforts have been made, including proposing a number of tourist destinations as geoparks, as well as improving basic infrastructure in several tourist locations.
Rusli assessed that Gorontalo has a number of destinations that are not inferior to other regions.
"There is the Olele marine park with enchanting underwater beauty, the beauty of Pulo Cinta, Saronde Island to the Whale Shark tour, which is located not far from the provincial capital," he said.
Governor Rusli plans to meet Sandiaga Uno again on February 18, to explain the needs and potential of regional tourism.
"I have had an initial conversation with him and we will wait for February 18. I would like to invite the regents and mayors to present an explanation there. What are the needs, problems, and obstacles, especially regarding our tourism," he explained.

In addition to program and budget support, Rusli hopes Sandiaga Uno can come and promote Gorontalo tourism.
As a popular young minister, Sandiaga Uno's presence is considered to be able to increase tourist visits.
"Moreover, he is not new to the people of Gorontalo. His father, Razif Halik Uno, is a native son of the region. Hopefully, his presence will have an impact on tourism and the creative economy in the region," said Rusli.
