Ganjar Nilai PBB Tak Mampu Menyelesaikan Konfeksi Israel-Palestinian Dan Indonesia Harus Initiasi
JAKARTA - The 2024 presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo said the United Nations (UN) does not have the power to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. For this reason, Indonesia must take a firm stance and initiative to realize peace.
"If you look at the role of the UN, you can do nothing, the security council is the same. So we need the initiatives that we do," said Ganjar when speaking at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) entitled Speech of the Presidential Candidate of the Republic of Indonesia : Directions and Strategy of Foreign Politics, Tuesday 7 November.
Ganjar explained that the initiative could be carried out through international political lobbying with many countries. For him, war must be stopped because it harms civilians.
"Initiatives are important for us to talk about. In that context, as happens in political relations. We will lobby many countries to talk about that it is important and should not be allowed to, because the war conflict is a civilian. They are victims, no one is concerned," he added.
The Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Ganjar continued, has become a worldwide spectacle. So he urged the UN Security Council to take a stand immediately.
"But the United Nations must take that stance. So where the role of the state, the state must be active. Our ambassadors in several countries or foreign ministers can be asked to lobby one by one the countries to show what really happened," he explained.
The former governor of Central Java for two terms also mentioned that Indonesia was once chairman of the G20, so that it could take action and play a role in efforts to resolve conflicts in Gaza.
"And we can take that initiative. For example, Indonesia is talking about the G20 chairmanship at that time, why don't we communicate all of us, to talk about the problems that must be solved when we are trusted to be leaders there. And, I think this is what is said to be the activity of our foreign politics to take that initiative," he said.

Ganjar said, when the peace process offered by many countries fails, Indonesia must immediately take the initiative. By lobbying continuously and diligently.
"Wars and conflicts only cause casualties. Next there will be endless anger and revenge. Even though we want our world to be free and respect each other. So some settlements must involve two conflicting countries," he said.
