If Proven To Be Spreading Hoaxes Cornering Political Parties, PKD In Garut Is Threatened With PAW
Garut Regency Bawaslu said a Village and Village Supervisor (PKD) was threatened with being replaced by interim replacement (PAW) following allegations of spreading false news or hoaxes cornering one of the political parties participating in the 2024 General Election.
"If this PKD is the problem related to ethics, the strictest sanctions are PAW," said Head of the Garut Regency Bawaslu Ahmad Nurul Syahid in Garut, Friday, September 15, which was confiscated by Antara.
He said that the Garut Bawaslu received a report from the Chairman of the Garut PDI Perjuangan DPC (PDIP) regarding receiving messages via the WhatsApp application from a PKD officer who allegedly cornered political parties and would be a presidential candidate, Monday, September 11.
Garut Bawaslu, he said, then summoned the Chairman of the PDIP DPC Garut Yudha Puja Turnawan to clarify the report on the hoax distribution case.
"For the stages of handling this case, we from Bawaslu asked for clarification from the reporter, and witnesses," he said.
He conveyed that after clarifying the reporting party, he would then examine the reported person who is a supervisor at the village or sub-district level in Garut.
The summons of the complainant and the reported party, he said, were to explore the problem of the reason why the PKD sent messages related to photos and other accusations which were considered by the complainant to be hoaxes.
"For this stage, we first explore information about what the hoax is like, what the purpose and purpose are we going to explore later, whether there are personal problems or what," he said.
According to him, whatever the reason, including personal problems, PKD should not do that, because as part of the election organizers must be professional and neutral.
If you do not comply with the regulations as an election organizer, he said, then the rules will be sanctioned with the heaviest sanctions, namely dismissal and conducted by PAW, for that all election supervisors must not take sides or vilify election participants.
"As an organizer, it must be neutral, according to election rules, must maintain justice, must not vilify," he said.
