Apple Music Classical App Officially Released Globally, Bringing a Catalog of More Than Five Million Songs!

JAKARTA - Apple today launched Apple Music Classical, a new standalone music streaming app designed to bring the classic music listening experience to life.

With Apple Music Classical, Apple Music users can easily find any recording in the classical music catalog with fully optimized search to instantly provide what users are looking for.

The app will use all combinations of keywords, from composer, work, to work number, conductor, artist, or instrument, the nickname of a work and will display all of those available.

“We love music, that's what we want and classical music is the basis of music of all genres. Apple Music Classical is a great dedicated app for classics connoisseurs as well as anyone new to classical music," said Apple vice president for Apple Music and Beats, Oliver Schusser on the company's official website, quoted Wednesday, March 29.

"We believe this is the best classical music streaming experience available anywhere, and for us, this is just the beginning," he added.

Apple Music Classical was born from Primephonic, which the company acquired in 2021 with the intention of launching apps focused on classical music in 2022.

With the launch of this app, Apple promises it will better handle the complex metadata often associated with classical recordings, and the app will also have things like curated playlists and composer bios to help people become more familiar with the genre.

According to the company, the combination of Apple Music Classical and Apple Music provides a complete music experience for everyone from longtime classical music fans to beginning listeners, and everyone in between.

According to Apple, the catalog will contain more than five million songs and there will also be lossless audio up to 24 bit/192 kHz across the service so listeners can feel the nuances of every show.

The Browse tab of Apple Music Classical will also help listeners explore the catalog guided by their interests, from composers, instruments, and periods, to conductors, orchestras, and choirs, and classics of the genre.

Apple Music Classical is available for download on the App Store everywhere Apple Music is offered except China, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey.

Existing Apple Music subscribers can enjoy Apple Music Classical right away at no extra cost, and it's available on all iPhone models running iOS 15.4 or later.

For your information, the version of the application for Android will be coming soon. To listen to music on Apple Music Classical, users must have an Internet connection.
