Breaking Through To The Main Round Of Indonesia Masters 2022, Chico Faces India's Representative

JAKARTA – Men's singles Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo penetrated the main round of the Indonesia Masters 2022. The ticket was obtained after he won over the representative of Egypt, Adham Hatem Elgamal.

Chico successfully won two straight sets 21-14 and 21-18 when playing in front of the public at the Istora Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 7 at noon WIB.

The victory could not be separated from the support of the fans who filled the stadium. After two years of Istora vacuum holding competitions, the presence of the audience was able to inject Chico's spirit.

"This support is an encouragement for me. Moreover, I haven't played [at Istora] in two years. So seeing the support of the fans gives me more enthusiasm," he said.

The 23-year-old badminton player will next meet the representative of India Sameer Verma. As anticipation, said Chico, he would learn the strategy of his potential opponent through video.

"Ready to be mentally and physically ready. Just look at the video game strategy," said Chico, the age of the match to the media crew.

Unfortunately, Chico's success was not followed by Andi Fadel Muhammad's singles. Fadel's move had to stall in the qualifiers after being bent by Sun Fei Xiang.
