Third Victory Collection In Formula E Jakarta, Mitch Evans Hasn't Think Of A World Title
JAKARTA – The ninth series of Formula E car racing in Jakarta has just finished. Jaguar TCS Racing's Mitch Evans came out victorious.
Evans succeeded in being the fastest at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) on Saturday, June 4. He beat Jean-Éric Vergne of the DS Techeetah team with a time gap of +0.733 seconds.
Despite his success in winning the race, Evans did not want to talk about his chances of winning. He said that he and his team needed consistency in the next races if they wanted to stay on track for the championship title.
"Actually I don't think I will win the race here or not. However, me and the team will always try to be better then the point is that in the next race we will try to get on the podium," said the New Zealand rider.
The victory in Jakarta was Evans' third victory this season. Previously he had recorded two consecutive wins when the fourth and fifth Formula E series took place in Rome.
Evans actually started the race from the third position in Jakarta. However, his prowess on the track managed to take him to the highest podium dramatically.

"The races are long, I'm always careful and fully concentrated especially behind [Jean-Erich] Vargne, it's very difficult. I felt comfortable for a few laps, and in the last laps it was very tense," he said.
Although he has won three of the nine series that have taken place, the 27-year-old rider still occupies fourth place in the standings.
He collected a total of 109 points or 12 points adrift of current leader Stoffel Vandoorne. Meanwhile, the second position still belongs to two-time world champion Jean-Erich Vargne, followed by Edoardo Mortara in third place.
