Calls Racing In Jakarta Still Memorable Even Though Just A Runner-up, Jean-eric Vergne: Indonesians Really Touched Me With Their Hospitality
JAKARTA - DS Techeetah racer Jean-eric Vergne had to settle for closing the ninth series of the 2022 Formula E race as runner-up. The result was obtained by Vergne because he lost quickly to Mitch Evans.
Although the results of the race at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit, (JIEC) Jakarta did not satisfy him, Vergne closed this race with a happy feeling and called it a memorable experience.
This is the first time a Formula E race has been held in Jakarta, this is definitely a new experience for drivers, including Vergne. Although short, according to Vergne, his presence in Jakarta was very memorable because he felt the experience of racing on a good track and was warmly welcomed by the residents.
"I am very happy to race here (Jakarta) especially apart from the excellent track, the Indonesians really touched me with their hospitality," said Jean-eric Vergne during a press conference after the race, Saturday, June 4.

In this session, Vergne had listed himself as the fastest racer during free practice (FP) 1. However, during the race, he was only able to close the competition with the second position.
The French racer failed to overtake Mitch Evans who represented Jaguar TCS Racing because he was 0.733 seconds adrift. Although he has not been able to occupy the highest podium, Vergne said that all the racing series in Jakarta this time were very enjoyable.
"Overall, racing here is very enjoyable and thanks to the people of Indonesia," concluded Vergne.
