Atalanta And Inter Go Goalless, Gian Piero Gasperini: 0-0 With High Quality
JAKARTA - Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini said his team deserved more than Inter when the two teams drew 0-0 in Week 22 of the Italian League, Sunday evening local time.
Quoted by Antara from football-italy, Monday, Gian Piero Gasperini said Atalanta had played well in this match and forced Inter to not be able to play as usual.
Gasperini explained that Atalanta played a little better than Inter, who defended more often and waited for La Dea to make mistakes before trying to get past their defense.
"We played very well, it was a difficult game because of Inter's unquestionable quality, but we played evenly.
"I think whatever we did was a little bit more than they did, as Inter sit really deep and wait for us to make mistakes to break our defense.
"They brought in two fresh strikers, I think maybe overall we deserved something more from this game", said Gasperini.
The Italian coach went on to say that it is natural to expect a lot of goals to occur in the match between Atalanta and Inter, he himself was surprised the match ended 0-0, but he thought it was a 0-0 score of high quality.
Gasperini thinks that in this match Atalanta managed to prevent Inter from moving as usual and this result is good for them because Inter is trying to dominate the game.
"We always have great games between us, but strangely it's 0-0, even though it's a 0-0 of high quality", Gasperini said.
