Officially Wearing Dan-9 Taekwondo Black Belt, Donald Trump Is On The Same Level With Russian President Vladimir Putin
JAKARTA - Former US President Donald Trump officially holds the title of Dan-9 Taekwondo black belt, making himself now on a par with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who said he would wear the Taekwondo uniform in the United States Congress.
Kukkiwon, also known as the World Taekwondo Headquarters, and home to the World Taekwondo Academy, has awarded former US President Donald Trump a 9th Black Dan belt, the highest level a person can achieve in the sport.
Kukkiwon President Lee Dong-sup visited Donald Trump at his home in Mar-a-lago, Palm Beach, Florida last weekend to give him his coveted taekwondo uniform and black belt.
"I heard that Donald Trump is very interested in taekwondo," Lee said, citing the Daily Mail November 22.
It is believed that the visit and awarding of an honorary black belt to Donald Trump was initiated by South Koreans in the United States.
'It is my pleasure and honor to receive this certificate of honor. Taekwondo is a great martial art to protect yourself in these times," Trump said.
Additionally, the former president vowed he would wear the Taekwondo uniform in the US Congress, should he return to the White House in the future.

Despite not actually practicing taekwondo himself, President Vladimir Putin has also managed to achieve the coveted rank.
