TANGERANG - Chairman of the National Commission for Child Protection (Komnas PA), Lia Latifah revealed that a toddler with the initials IR (4) who was abused by his stepmother RE (38) is still experiencing severe trauma. This is known after the victim always cried when asked to be sent home to his parents.

"The victim is in good condition, because he is still under surveillance. It's at the Komnas PA safe house. So the day is getting better. It's just that we still don't want it if, for example, we return it to his parents," said Lia when confirmed, Thursday, November 23.

Therefore, Komnas PA plans to look for caregivers from other parties to take care of IR. Yes, one of them is looking for the victim's biological mother, or her living relatives.

"So, for example, it is uncomfortable with the father and mother. We will look for IR's biological mother, where is it. So there must be other parties' care," he said.

If not found, continued Lia, the victim will be placed in a house belonging to the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) until the person concerned is ready to live independently.

"The important thing is that Komnas PA provides child protection in order to get good care," he concluded.
