Successfully Overcoming Energy Transmission Problems, iPhone 12 Will Soon Be Legal in France

JAKARTA – Apple made an encouraging announcement regarding its cellphone, which has been having problems since last month. On October 10, Apple said that the iPhone 12 would be legal again in France.

As is known, the iPhone 12 was banned from circulation in France on September 12. This ban comes because the Agence nationale des fréquences (ANFR) said there was a danger to the iPhone 12 exceeding the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) limit.

ANFR as the French radio frequency regulator tested 141 cellphones at that time and the iPhone 12 exceeded the emission limit for the body. This test itself refers to the amount of energy absorbed by the body from the frequency electromagnetic field produced by the radio.

To fix this problem, Apple immediately made improvements to the software so that the iPhone 12 could escape the specified SAR limits. Luckily, the ANFR approved their repairs on September 29th.

Through its official statement, Apple emphasized that the iPhone 12 is safe to use and will always be safe for everyday use. Not only does this apply to the iPhone 12, all Apple cellphones have met energy transmission standards.

The company explains that the iPhone 12 has basically been certified and recognized as meeting SAR standards worldwide. The emergence of the ban in France was also considered a trial error.

According to Apple, ANFR uses a testing protocol that does not take into account external body detection mechanisms so power increases are unlikely. Apple  updated the software to pass testing protocols.

After update 17.1,  iPhone 12 will not increase the allowed power when an off-body condition is detected. This change will make the phone perform slightly slower than previously designed.
