Luuk De Jong Scores Goal, PSV Eindhoven Wins 1-0 Over Racing Lens In Champions League

JAKARTA - In a fit condition Luuk de Jong, they finally scored an initial goal to give PSV Eindhoven's first win in Group B of the Champions League. On Wednesday 8 November or Thursday morning WIB, they beat Racing Lens 1-0 at home at the Philips Stadium accompanied by rain. This victory lifted PSV from bottom to second in the Group B standings.

Luuk de Jong, who has now scored 16 goals for his club this season, opened the scoring after 12 minutes. He took advantage of his height to score with a header from Johan Bakayoko's pass. This goal gave a bright start to the team of leaders of the Dutch League standings.

PSV, which drew against Lens last month, had many other chances to add to the score where Bakayoko and Mexican Hirving Lozano approached goals in increasingly difficult physical matches due to wet field conditions.

Lens, who had seven players who received yellow cards in fierce matches, was less effective in attack but never came out of tight defense and almost stole an equalizer goal in the 88th minute when Morgan Guilavogui, who came on as a substitute, clashed the ball into the crossbar.

Guilavogui came in the 78th minute, got a yellow card four minutes later, and was then issued two minutes in injury time when he got a second yellow card.

PSV, which did not win any of their first three group games, are now ahead with five points, ahead of Lens just based on head-to-head results. Arsenal took the lead with nine points after their 2-0 win at home to Sevilla put the Spanish side at the bottom with two points.
