KY-MA Dismisses 3 Judges Disrespectfully, One Of Them Is The Impact Of Consumption Of Drugs In The Workspace

JAKARTA - The Judicial Commission (KY) and the Supreme Court (MA), during the January-September 2023 period, have held four sessions of the Honorary Council of Judges (MKH) and dishonorably dismissed three judges. Head of the Supervision of Judges and Investigations of KY Joko Sasmito said the first MKH trial was held on January 24, 2023, against the reported MY. The trial was postponed because the judge was not present. "The trial will continue on February 3, 2023, in a hybrid manner, where the panel is in the MA Building, while the reported party and witnesses at the Watampone Religious Court have decided to dishonorably dismiss," Joko said at a press conference at the KY Building, Jakarta, Antara, Friday, November 3. MKH is a decision-making forum for judges who are proposed to be sentenced to severe sentences in the form of dismissal, both at the proposal of KY and MA. "The next trial of the MKH, against the reported DA related to the case of consuming narcotics in his office, on July 18, 2023, with the decision to dismiss him with disrespect," said Joko. Furthermore, the third MKH trial on the Supreme Court's proposal was held regarding the bribery case against the reported DS on August 9, 2023, with the decision to dishonorably dismiss. "Finally, HB reported the case of infidelity on September 5, 2023, with the decision to permanent dismissal with pension rights," said Joko. Previously, Joko said that KY recommended that 45 judges be sanctioned for violating the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct of Judges (KEPPH) during the January-September 2023 period. In detail, judges who were proven to have violated the KEPPH consisted of 13 judges who were given light sanctions, seven judges were sentenced to moderate sanctions, and 13 judges were given severe sanctions.

Meanwhile, 12 other judges could not be given suggestions for imposing sanctions because they had already been sanctioned by the Supreme Court Supervisory Agency (Bawas).
