Drug Dealers In Ternate Arrested By BNNP While Teler, Rp4 Million In Cash And Suction Instruments As Evidence

The North Maluku Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) eradication team arrested users and drug dealers of methamphetamine type, namely SA alias RE (44), residents of Kalumata, Ternate, and suspects AU alias UN (30), residents of Guaemaadu Village, West Halmahera Regency, as owners of class 1 narcotics type of marijuana. "The suspect SA alias RE (44) was arrested with evidence of narcotics class I of methamphetamine weighing 0.80 grams, while the suspect AU alias UN (30) was arrested with 100 grams of marijuana evidence," said the Head of the North Maluku BNNP, Brigadier General Agus Rohmat when contacted in Ternate, Antara, Thursday, August 24. In an effort to make North Maluku clean for drugs, the BNNP team arrested the suspect SA alias RE who works as a narcotics dealer. Meanwhile, the suspect AU alias UN was arrested after receiving a package sent through one of the shipping/expedition services. SA alias RE was arrested after the North Maluku BNNP Eradication Team received information from residents about the abuse and illicit trafficking of Narcotics in a house. At around 21.30 WIT, the North Maluku BNNP Eradication Team visited the suspect's parents' house and found that the suspect SA alias RE controlled two small sachets suspected of Narcotics Category I type methamphetamine. When he was arrested, the suspect was drunk and suspected of using methamphetamine, the Eradication Team also searched the suspect's house until he found a suction device, digital scales, small plastics, cellphones and money amounting to Rp. 4.4 million. "From the suspect's explanation, the money is the result of the sale of 10 small packages of narcotics starting on June 25, 2023, or since the suspect received the package from Residivist with the initials MG. The suspect SA alias RE has also sent money to MG in the amount of Rp. 5 million via transfer. The remaining money from the sale from 10 packages amounting to Rp. 4.4 million that have not been sent to MG is still under the control of the suspect SA alias RE and was eventually confiscated," he said. Meanwhile, the suspect AU alias UN as the owner of marijuana was also arrested from information received by the North Maluku BNNP Eradication Team from the public regarding the shipment of Narcotics Category I type Ganja from Medan through a delivery/expedition service to the city of Jailolo last week. Based on this information, the North Maluku BNNP Eradication Team followed up by conducting an investigation around the delivery service location in Jailolo City. In addition, information received by the North Maluku BNNP Eradication Team that Packages suspected of containing Narcotics Category I type Ganja would be sent to the package taker in front of one of the motorcycle workshops. The Eradication Team immediately ambushed the recipient of a package known as AU alias UN.

From the results of the examination by investigators, the suspect AU alias UN admitted that he had bought marijuana twice via Instagram with the first order of 100 grams at a price of Rp800 thousand, then the second purchase in the same amount and price. Marijuana is used with friends, and distributed to other friends as well. Therefore, said Agus Rohmat, the suspect was charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 111 paragraph (1) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of imprisonment for a minimum of 4 years and a maximum of 12 years and a fine of at least Rp. 800 million to Rp. 8 billion.
