Riau Police Destroy 23.6 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine From International Syndicate

The Riau Regional Police's Narcotics and Drug Investigation Directorate destroyed 23.6 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in four cases with six suspects from international narcotics syndicates.

"The suspects are MI (34), ES (27), PA (25), MM (28), MF (30), H (52) and MA who are couriers of international network syndicate methamphetamine," said Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police Kombes Hery Herwono in Pekanbaru as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 9.

This illicit goods is destroyed by dissolving it in boiling water and mixed with floor cleaning liquid. Before being destroyed, crystal methamphetamine was first checked by the Riau Police Forensic Laboratory Sector.

Director of the Narcotics Directorate of the Riau Police, Kombes Yos Guntur, explained the first disclosure, namely from the husband and wife of MI and ES with 8.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine on Friday (14/7).

Meanwhile, in case two, the police arrested two suspects with evidence of 9.97 kilograms stored in the modified car floor.

The suspects PA and MM were arrested on Jalan Arifin Ahmad, Medang Kampai District, Dumai City, Tuesday (18/7). After the two suspects were arrested, a search was carried out and 10 plastic packages were found suspected of being methamphetamine on the modified car floor.

"The drugs will be brought to Duri to be handed over to someone," explained Yos Guntur.

In the third case, the Narcotics Directorate arrested a suspect with the initials MF (30), a resident from South Sulawesi at a hotel on Jalan Riau, Senapelan District on Friday (28/7). 3.1 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine was found in the old brown backpack of the suspect in the room.

"From the perpetrator's confession, he received orders from the DP and paid Rp. 30 million to deliver the illicit goods to Jakarta by bus," he said.

Finally, two couriers were arrested on Jalan Lintas Rengat, Tembilahan Hulu District, Inhil Regency on Sunday (30/8). From the suspects H and MA, 2 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine were confiscated in a backpack.

The suspects were charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph 2 in conjunction with 132 paragraph 1 with a maximum threat of the death penalty or a life imprisonment of six years and a minimum of six years.
