The Directorate of Traffic of the West Java Police confirmed that there was a fire burst incident at the rest area of KM 86 Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) Toll Road in the Subang Regency, West Java, which did not interfere with the traffic flow of Lebaran 2023. West Java Police Traffic Director Kombes Wibowo said the incident occurred at around 08.00-09.00 WIB. The rest area position is on the route leading to Jakarta. "It happened in the morning, but the traffic flow conditions remained safe," said Wibowo when contacted in Bandung, West Java, Antara, Wednesday, April 26. Wibowo also did not explain the cause of the burst of fire. However, he said, this had been handled by a detective team from the West Java Police and the local police. "We are also temporarily closing the rest area in the context of security," he said. Meanwhile, the Head of Patrol for the Cipali Toll Road, Ipda Raden Nugraha, said that the burst of fire was thought to have originated from natural gas. The burst of fire was in the rest area of KM 86 Cipali Toll Road on the route leading to Jakarta. He also confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident.

"It's not an explosion but there's gas coming out of the bore well and emitting flames," said Raden.
