Agency Apologizes For SEVENTEEN's New Album Teaser, What's Up?

JAKARTA - SEVENTEEN's agency, Pledis Entertainment released an apology amid the release of a new SEVENTEEN album teaser. They will release the mini Seventeen Heaven album which will be released in October.

Last week, SEVENTEEN started a number of teaser releases with videos of iconic buildings around the world starting from Eiffel Tower in Paris, Times Square in New York, Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo, as well as the Great Wall of China.

The teaser video features an iconic building inserted by SEVENTEEN's new album artwork, a smiling chamomile flower.

However, the teaser received criticism from the public, especially fans in China after China's big wall teaser video was uploaded. The criticism of SEVENTEEN fans called Carat was known by the agency and made them delete the teaser.

The agency immediately released an apology to fans criticizing the release. They explained that the big Chinese wall was chosen for representing China.

The Beijing version is produced to show chamomile flowers floating over the Great Wall of China, a cultural wealth that represents China, "said Pledis Entertainment.

"But after the video was released, we received criticism from fans for our understanding and respect for the Great Wall of China," he said.

The agency ensures that every content SEVENTEEN creates can be enjoyed by everyone. They also apologize for the discomfort created by the content.

"We immediately deleted the Beijing version of the video. We apologize for making fans uncomfortable and we will be more careful going forward," said PLEDIS again.

"We will try to create content so that all fans from different countries and diverse cultures can enjoy it together," they said again.

SEVENTEEN will release a mini album titled SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN on October 23, 2023. Physical album reservations can be ordered since last week.
