MANOKWARI - Head of Perum Bulog Manokwari Branch, West Papua, Stephanus Kurniawan asked the community in Manokawri to report that if they found rice programs to stabilize supply and food prices (SPHP), they were sold at prices above Rp. 59 thousand per package of 5 kg."This SPHP rice is the highest retail price (HET) is Rp. 11,800/kg, or if it is packaged 5 kg, the price is Rp. 59 thousand. So shops are prohibited from selling above HET," said Stephanus in Manokwari, Antara, Sunday, October 22.All shops selling SPHP rice must make a statement selling SPHP rice under HET. SPHP rice is medium rice from Bulog which gets subsidies from the government, so the price is limited.However, in its application, Bulog cannot always control every store per day. Therefore, it takes the participation of the community to report if there are shops that violate the sale of SPHP rice above HET."Please report it to Bulog, buy it in which shop, buy it when. Later we will check the shop, whether the shop takes SPHP rice from Bulog or sells SPHP rice to another store. If proven, of course we will impose the shop sanctions that we cannot take or sell SPHP rice anymore," he explained.According to him, SPHP rice actually functions to ensure the availability of rice stocks and to move the community's economy. Therefore, SPHP rice is cheap but has a fairly good quality. In addition, SPHP rice is packaged per 5 kg so that it can be sold directly to the public.
"If it is found that there are shops selling SPHP rice at an expensive price, it could be because the shop gets SPHP rice from other stores. That is also not allowed. SPHP rice cannot be sold from shop to store, but it must be sold from shop to consumer," he said.
