Today's Film Review We Will Tell You Later: Combining Complex Fathers And Children's Stories
JAKARTA - The World Later We Tell About Today (NKCTHI) ending with a film entitled Today We Will Tell You Later (HIAKCN). The film, which is still directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko, takes the corner of the eldest child, Angkasa, played by Rio Dewanto.
Apart from Angga, the world, which was developed from the Marchella FP book, strengthens the story as one of the successful family films. However, there is something different from the story of HIAKCN compared to films in the NKCTHI universe.
The film HIAKCN will tell two stories at once, namely Angkasa at this time and Angkasa's father, Narendra, in his youth. How to sew two characters with too far a time background?
Today We Will Tell You Later (HIAKCN) tells of Angkasa (Rio Dewanto) who is married to Lika (Agla Artalidia) and lives in Bali. At one point, the two fought so that Angkasa asked his mother, Ajeng (Susan Bachtiar) to come to Bali.
Angkasa was surprised that it was not her mother but her father, Narendra (Donny Damara). Narendra also realized that his arrival to Bali was also related to the conflict between Angkasa and Lika.
In addition, in 1987, Narendra (Jourdy Pranata) suffered a loss when his older brother died in the Bintaro Tragedy. Narendra, who migrated to Jakarta, felt annoyed that his brother could not be saved.
In the same situation, Narendra saw Ajeng (Yunita Siregar) who was worried because her mother was sick. Narendra's help made Ajeng feel relieved and amazed. The two began to get close even though Ajeng was going to marry someone else. The social gap between Narendra and Ajeng threatens their future relationship.

Still with family stories and romance, Today We Will Tell You Later (HIAKCN) has everything the audience wants: a row of players with good acting, production design, to a back and forth flow that is connected through the choice of the song.
However, in storytelling, the story of these two stories looks different even though they are still complex in their respective portions. The story of Angkasa and Narendra which also appeared in the film Later We Tell About Today (NKCTHI) turned out to be quite weak compared to the story of young Narendra.
The story of Angkasa and Narendra is felt to be made in a hurry so that many moments that should be able to become turning points just go through. In fact, in conflict, Angkasa as a older brother has a portion to speak more widely in this solo film (if you want to be called a film about Angkasa).
Even since NKCTHI, Angkasa has lifted the burden of conflict that has not been explained in the previous two films. However, this film also does not explore Angkasa which has superior complexes or offers solutions for its character.
On the other hand, the story of young Narendra actually takes part in the HIAKCN film. The romance premise of the rich and the poor seems simple, but the story is still interesting, supported by the chemistry of Jourdy Pranata and Yunita Siregar.
Not alone, the cast of kost (Muhammad Khan, Ruth Marini, Erick Estrada, Ricky H. Malau) brought the comedy side to life in his part. Likewise, the acting of Ajeng's parents, Rukman Rosadi and Ira Wibowo.
Both the story of Angkasa and young Narendra highlight their complexity as humans when faced with self-interference. But it would be better if the story of young Narendra became a reflection of Narendra today and could be an inspiration for Angkasa, about fighting for love and survival.
Today We Will Tell You Later (HIAKCN) will still come with a solid drama and satisfactory acting. The film can be watched on Netflix.
