Still Active As State Administrators, 21 Bacaleg In Bogor Indicated For Cheating
BOGOR - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Bogor Regency, West Java, stated that as many as 21 potential legislative candidates (bakal legislative candidates) in their area were indicated to have committed fraud.The Coordinator of the Prevention Division of Bawaslu Bogor Regency, Burhanuddin, explained that the 21 candidates will be known to still have the status of state administrators.Para bakal caleg saat mendaftar ke Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) masih aktif menjabat sebagai perangkat desa hingga pegawai kecamatan di Pemerintah Kabupaten Bogor."A total of 21 candidates have not resigned from their positions that must be left when registering as legislative candidates," explained Burhan in Bogor, Antara, Tuesday, July 25.According to him, Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (Pemilu), Article 240 requires a candidate to resign from his position, which is limited to certain positions.Such as regional heads, deputy regional heads, State Civil Apparatus, members of the TNI, members of the National Police, directors, commissioners, supervisory boards and employees of state-owned enterprises and/or regional-owned enterprises or other agencies whose budgets come from state finances.In addition, village heads (kades) and village officials are also required to resign if they are legging. This provision is contained in KPU Regulation (PKPU) Article 11 Paragraph (2) letter b Number 10 of 2023 concerning Candidacy for Members of the DPR, Provincial DPRD and Regency/City DPRD."The order of the village head to resign refers to Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages Article 29 letter which prohibits the village head from holding concurrent positions as a member of the legislature," he explained.Burhan recommended to the local KPU to ask the 21 candidates to complete the requirements by attaching a letter of resignation, before the KPU submits the Permanent Candidate List (DCT) of the Bogor Regency DPRD in November 2023.
"We have recommended, asking for it to be corrected immediately. In the future, this legislative candidate must attach a letter of resignation from his position along with a receipt letter from his previous agency," said Burhan.
