Reject Allegations Related To Attacks On The Crimean Bridge, UK: Speculation Is Not Based On Russia

JAKARTA - Britain rejected Russia's allegations on Monday, which said London intelligence agencies may have been involved in an attack on Russia's bridge in Crimea.

"This is baseless speculation from Russia and we will not cloud the atmosphere by commenting further," a UK Foreign Ministry spokesman said in an emailed comment.

Earlier, Russia's Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations Dmitry Polyanskiy on Monday said, without providing any evidence, British intelligence agencies may have been involved in an attack that killed two people, injured a girl and damaged a bridge.

"I have not heard any criticism of this act of terrorism from any Western sponsorship of the Kiev regime," Polyanskiy told the United Nations Security Council.

"And we do not yet know the extent to which the West, particularly British intelligence agencies, are involved in the preparation and implementation of this terrorist attack. Too many things are leading there," he continued.

It is known that an explosion paralyzed a bridge linking Russia to the Crimean Peninsula on Monday morning, which Moscow annexed from Ukraine in 2014, in what Moscow called a Ukrainian marine drone strike.
