Many Enthusiasts, Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid Has Pocketed More Than 1,000 SPKs

JAKARTA - Anthusiasm of the Toyota Yaris Cross, the latest SUV from Toyota launched in May, is very high. An interesting design and carries the latest technology, making this car attractive to many people. PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) has received 1,044 units of Yaris Cross to date.

Yaris Cross's sales are dominated by big cities in Indonesia, especially because of its high hybrid composition. This is in accordance with the target market desired by TAM for this hybrid SUV variant.

"Yaris Cross in the first two weeks, hybrid composition reached 78 percent. We have received 1,044 SPK within about two weeks of its first launch," said Anton Jimmi Suwandi, Marketing Director of PT TAM as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 4.

Even though it has reached the desired target, PT TAM will continue to encourage more production for the Yaris Cross Hybrid model in Indonesia by reducing the incidence period.

"This July's production is 100 percent hybrid, while last month it focused on gasoline. Next month, if demand remains high, we will try to produce 100 percent of the hybrid variant so that the indent time is not too long," said Anton.

Toyota Yaris Cross has two variants, namely gasoline and hybrid. The gasoline variant is equipped with a 2NR-VE 1,500 cc 4-cylinder Dual VVT-i engine which produces 104 dk of power and 138 Nm of torque. The available transmission is five manual accelerations and CVT.

Meanwhile, the hybrid variant is equipped with a 2NR-VEX 1,500 cc 4-cylinder engine, with a gasoline engine of 89 dk and a torque of 121 Nm, as well as an electric motor with 79 dk power and a torque of 141 Nm. The Toyota hybrid system (THS) is equipped with EV mode and CVT transmission.

The price of Toyota Yaris Cross gasoline starts from IDR 351 million to IDR 417 million. Meanwhile, the hybrid variant is sold from IDR 440.6 million to IDR 449.95 million.

With its presence in Indonesia, Toyota Yaris Cross will be a competitor to other compact SUVs such as Hyundai Creta and Honda HR-V.

Toyota Yaris Cross is a distant relative of the latest compact SUV from Lexus, namely LBX, which uses the same platform, namely GA-B.
