Sandiaga Asks Santri To Develop Digitalization Capabilities

JAKARTA - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno advised santri in Cirebon Regency, West Java to be able to improve digitalization skills and knowledge for self-development in the future.

The Menparekraf explained that through the Go Digital movement it will equip santri with knowledge in the future, so that one day they will have qualified business skills so they are able to have work partners abroad.

"They can become prominent, I dream that one day the santri can start a business and develop their business in the culinary, fashion, and other fields," Sandiaga said as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, April 6.

Apart from that, Sandiaga also hopes that santri can create content that has an Islamic and creative nuance as well as shows a kind of morality and Islam that is Rahmatan Lil Alamin.

"These santri have strong religious knowledge, and now we are helping to strengthen it with digitalization. I hope these santri will not only go out looking for jobs, but can also create jobs," he said.

Moreover, said Sandiaga, especially in Cirebon Regency which is currently a leading destination, because it is connected by all the main infrastructure such as Kertajati airport, Cisumdawu Toll Road, and Cipali toll road to Trans Java.

"There is Kertajati Airport, Cisumdawu Toll Road, Cipali Toll Road which are already connected to Trans Java. Later during Eid, Cirebon will be passed by the majority of the 123.8 million travelers. So these santri must be able to take advantage of opportunities, as part of creating 4.4 million new jobs," he said.
