JAKARTA - When browsing the internet, you often find videos that play automatically, and this is quite annoying. However, Microsoft has finally listened to the complaints of its Edge browser users.

Currently, the company is reportedly testing a new feature in Edge that allows users to block autoplay videos. The trial was spotted on Edge Insiders on the Canary channel.

The addition of these features complements the pre-existing allow and limit options, forming a comprehensive suite of tools for managing web video autoplay in Edge.

"We have started making this feature available to some of our Canary users and will continue to make it available to more customers in the coming weeks," said the Microsoft Edge team.

According to the team, they have received feedback from their users asking the company to bring an enhanced video autoplay-blocking feature.

Previously, the Microsoft Edge team had offered limited options to control video autoplay based on the user's previous interactions with websites.

They have now started rolling out stricter blocking options. But it is not known exactly when this brand-new feature can be launched in a stable version.

Launching The Verge, Thursday, April 6, but if users don't want to wait for this option, they can use other options because Microsoft has been quietly testing this feature for several years.

Enabling the edge://flags/#edge-autoplay-user-setting-block-option flag will allow users to enable the block option in the site permissions or Media autoplay section of Edge settings on the regular stable release of the browser.
