JAYAPURA - The Dogiyai Police, Central Papua, is currently investigating the cause of the fire that scorched eight residents' houses and two official offices.
The Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Prabowo, said that the two offices that caught fire were the Office of the Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the office of the Bangkasa and Political Unity Agency (kesbangpol) Dogiyai.
The fire incident occurred in a different location and there were no casualties.
"From the reports received, the two offices are located in Kimupugi Village, Kamuu District, which occurred Monday (31/7) at around 10.00 WIT," said Benny.
At around 11.00 WIT, another fire broke out in Ekimanida Village, precisely on Jalan Trans Nabire-Enarotali, which resulted in eight houses being burned to the ground.
"Members of the Dogiyai Police are still conducting investigations in the field to determine the cause of the fires and losses caused by the fire, and to hope that the public is not provoked and remain calm, and submit this case to the police," hoped Kombes Benny.
