16 Times In Action, Two Motorcycle Thief Specialists In Tangerang Arrested By Officers

TANGERANG - Police arrested two perpetrators suspected of being specialists in motorcycle thieves in the Tangerang area. The two perpetrators had the initials FD and A.

The Head of Public Relations of the Tangerang Metro Police, Kompol Abdul Jana, explained that the disclosure of this theft specialist action began with a public report on Monday, July 17.

Starting from the victim who lost his motorbike while keeping his vehicle in the parking area of his house. Suddenly, when he wanted to use it, his motorbike was not there where he kept it.

The victim immediately looked for him by surrounding Suka Damai Village. Not far from his residence, the victim saw a man trying to revive a motorcycle which turned out to be his, "said Jana when confirmed, Friday, July 28.

After knowing this, the victim immediately reported to the Teluknaga Police regarding what happened to him. The police, who received the report, immediately gave chase.

"The perpetrator with the initials FD was arrested," he said.

The perpetrator was then taken to the Teluknaga Police for questioning. According to his confession, FD often acts with his colleague, A.

After getting the location of his colleague, Jana continued, his party made an arrest. As a result, A was arrested in the Pakuhaji area, Tangerang Regency.

"From the results of the interrogation, the perpetrators have acted 16 times in Pakuhaji, Tangerang and Neglasari Regencies, Tangerang City, since January 2023," he said

"The perpetrators sold the stolen goods through the Facebook social media application by creating a special account," he continued.

From the results of the disclosure, the police managed to confiscate evidence of two motorbikes, a cell phone, and the key that was used during the action.

The two perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with weight, with a penalty of 5 years in prison.
