CIANJUR - The Health Office of Cianjur Regency, West Java, asked residents to routinely conduct health checks at health care centers or hospitals to ensure their body condition to avoid various dangerous diseases, including Hepatitis. Head of Disease Handling and Control (P2P) of the Cianjur Health Office, Frida Layla Yahya, said that from 2021 to 2023 there were 698 cases of Hepatitis in Cianjur. "Through the free-cost Cekas program, residents are asked to routinely check their health conditions to avoid dangerous diseases such as Hepatitis which is feared throughout the world," he said in Cianjur, as reported by Antara, Friday, July 28. Patients with hepatitis or disorders in the liver, he said, due to various factors, such as viral infections, drinking alcohol habits, exposure to certain toxic substances or drugs, so that the types are divided into two based on their acute and chronic nature. The disease is not only considered dangerous in Indonesia, but also in various countries, so it is always commemorated as World Hepatitis Day which falls on July 28 every year. "In order to avoid Hepatitis, we ask the public to apply health protocols, especially using masks and washing hands before and after doing activities outside the home, including ensuring that the food consumed is ripe and clean," he said. His party also appealed to residents to avoid contact with sick people, reduce mobility and not take turns eating utensils with other people. "Meanwhile, for sufferers, we ask for routine treatment to the hospital," he said.

Meanwhile, throughout 2023, from January to June, his party found 164 cases of Hepatitis through checking pregnant women and during Cekas activities in a number of areas, so they were advised to routinely carry out examinations and treatment at hospitals in Cianjur.
