KPK Says Toilet Corruption In Bekasi Regency Is Just A Matter Of Time To Go Up To Investigation

JAKARTA - Allegations of corruption in the construction of school luxury toilets in Bekasi Regency will soon go up to investigation. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is currently preparing a task force that will be on duty.

"Right now we are forming a team," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur to reporters, Monday night, July 24.

This team was formed because the anti-corruption commission did not want to carelessly investigate the alleged corruption that occurred. Moreover, the number of corrupted toilets is suspected to be located at 488 points in Bekasi Regency.

In addition, the problem of toilets at hundreds of points is also different from one another. "For example, there is a shortage of one toilet on the floor, the other in the other, here one by one we make sure, like that," explained Asep.

Furthermore, Asep ensured that the investigation into the alleged corruption would be announced when the investigation was launched. He said the KPK has now collaborated with the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) to seek losses from the project.

"Of course, we have communicated with BPKP to calculate state financial losses," said Asep.

It is known, the Bekasi Regency government built 488 toilets for elementary schools (SD) and junior high schools (SMP). The total funds in this project reached Rp. 96.8 billion.

Of that amount, each school gets a quota of IDR 198.5 million to build toilets. The funds were viral and became public attention because the results were not in accordance with the budget issued.
