SUMEDANG - President Joko Widodo admitted that he was happy that the prices of a number of basic commodities at Tanjungsari Market, Sumedang, West Java, were relatively stable.

"What I'm happy about is that the meat is already at IDR 38 thousand, chicken meat, and shallots, chilies, everything is in a stable position," said President Jokowi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 11.

Jokowi assessed that the movement of staple commodity prices in Sumedang was relatively good.

According to the President, this cannot be separated from the national inflation situation which is at 3.5 percent year on year (yoy) in June 2023.

"We hope that in September, October, (inflation) will be below 3. We hope," said Jokowi.

The President also assessed that the price stability met at Tanjungsari Market Sumedang was the result of the ability to maintain basic needs supply.
