TANGERANG - Tangerang City Police, Banten, appealed to residents to report to the police if they found any social organization (Ormas) or other institutions that submitted requests for holiday allowances (THR) with coercive elements. "Immediately report if they become victims of extortion. We have a police, (manager) RW, there is Bhabinkamtibmas, there is a police station nearest, or can come to the Tangerang Police Headquarters," said Tangerang Police Chief Kombes Sigit Dany Setiyono as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 5. Sigit emphasized that if there are residents or companies who feel forced to donate or THR are welcome to report so that his party can take firm action against those who carry out the extortion. "Anyone who asks for donations (THR) by force threatens and means of thuggerism, we will take firm action in accordance with applicable laws," he said. According to him, the Tangerang Police will not tolerate anyone who commits acts of thuggery and will eradicate any form of extortion carried out by a number of individuals ahead of Eid Al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah. "I order all police officers if they receive public complaints regarding THR requests related to extortion elements by certain elements or mass organizations, immediately follow up and firm action," he said.
