JAKARTA - The Indonesian film industry is growing, and has even grown faster after slumping after the COVID-19 pandemic. Indonesian films achieved their highest audience record this year and more films were produced.

The rapid development of Indonesian films has an impact on the increasing number of film workers, so that job opportunities are wide open. To prepare quality film workers, director Ifa Ifansyah was inspired to establish an educational institution called the Jogja Film Academy (JFA).

With the D3 Film Production study program, JFA is the first special academy on film in Indonesia. Focus on learning to produce films that are currently in demand by young people from all over Indonesia. Established since 2014, the Jogja Film Academy is currently opening New Student Admissions for the Academic Year 2023/2024 by increasing the quota of new students to 105 students starting from February 2023, to August 2023.

"Jogja Film Academy is committed to answering new challenges in the new era of the film world, committed to continuing to produce new talents of filmmakers supported by teachers who are practitioners of professional filmmakers. The achievements that have been printed by teachers are great energy for Jogja Film Academy students," said JFA founder Ifa Ifansyah.

Some of the achievements of the Citra Cup-winning practitioners include Lulu Hendra (Best Short Film 2014), Wahyu Utami Wati (Best Short Documentary 2017 Film), Tony Trimarsanto (Best Documentary 2014 Film), Krisna Purna (Best 2015 Music Organizer), Akhmad Fesdi Anggoro (Best Image Editor 2022) and Ifa Isfansyah (Best Sumtradara 2011 & Best Film 2015, 2019 and 2022).

"Jogja Film Academy is not only focused on developing its students, but also has programs for its best alumni. Jogja Film Academy has the JFA Talent Project program which is a funding facilitation program to stimulate alumni to produce their best film works," he said.

"JFA Talent Incubator which will facilitate funding support and assistance in the production of long story films was selected with support of up to 500 million rupiah in each project. Meanwhile, JFA Film Fund is in the form of funding up to 50 million rupiah which contributes to the growth and talent development of alumni every year so that films initiated by alumni have the possibility to be produced," added Ifa.

In addition, there is also the JFA Talent Scholarship program, which is a fully educational fund support program for prospective new students, Jogja Film Academy, which has the best talent and is followed by support for the production of long story films when the education process is complete.
