YouTube Tests 'Playables' Online Game Products In New Growth Efforts
JAKARTA - According to a Wall Street Journal report on Friday, June 23, YouTube is conducting internal testing of products to play online games. The report cites emails sent to its parent company employee, Google.
The company invites employees to start testing a new YouTube product called 'Playables', the report said. Some of the game titles available for testing include an arbitrary game, Stack Bounce.
According to the report, these games can be played on YouTube sites via a web browser or through devices running Android systems from Google and iOS from Apple.

A YouTube spokesperson said the game had long been the company's focus, and they were experimenting with new features but "did not have any announcements at this time."
According to a WSJ report, hosting online games on YouTube, which is a popular place for users to stream games and watch live-to-play footage, is part of CEO Neal Mohan's efforts to enter new growth areas amid a slowdown in advertising spending.
