Gerindra Gives Green Light If Kaesang Advances To The Depok Regional Head Election

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Depok City Gerindra Party H. Nuroji gave the green light if Kaesang Pangarep wishes to run as a candidate for Mayor of Depok in the 2024 Pilkada.

"Kaesang wants to go forward, please, anyone wants to go forward, please. In the past, there were also Kediri who advanced for the Depok Regional Election (Former Mayor of Depok Nur Mahmudi Ismail). Depok is an open city, for me there is no problem," said Nuroji after the Merdeka Curriculum Socialization Education Workshop in Depok, West Java, Monday 19 June.

Nuroji said that it would be time for the people to make their choice to President Joko Widodo's youngest son or vice versa.

However, he said, Gerindra has yet to take care of the Depok Regional Election, even if someone talks about the regional elections, it's just to enliven it.

"So it's just a gimmick to enliven it," said Nuroji, who is also a member of the DPR, was confiscated by Antara.

He emphasized that until now Gerindra does not have a candidate because he has not thought about carrying out who in the 2024 regional elections simultaneously. "Gerindra does not have a choice, does not yet have a candidate to run for the Depok regional election," he added.

Nuroji also emphasized that his party has not set a radar to recruit candidates for the mayor of Depok, because Gerindra has an adab when it comes to presidential candidacy, don't discuss the election first.

He said that currently Gerindra Depok is focusing on the legislative and presidential elections in 2024.

"The target for obtaining seats for the Depok DPRD is 14 seats and Prabowo Subianto's presidential candidate vote reaches 60 percent," he said.
