Singapore Open 2023: Overthrow Li Shi Feng, Anthony Ginting Becomes The Only Indonesian Representative In The Semifinals
JAKARTA - Indonesian men's singles, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, succeeded in overthrowing Li Shi Feng in the Singapore Open 2023 quarter-finals. The victory brought Anthony Ginting to be the only representative for Indonesia in the semifinals.
Appearing at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Ginting is faced with a tough effort to overthrow Li Shi Feng. Both must appear in 62 minutes to determine the winner.
Had the lead in the first game, in fact Ginting got resistance in the second game by the Chinese representatives. After a draw, the match continued to the game ruber which eventually belonged to Ginting with a score of 21-13, 16-21, and 21-12.
Ginting's victory in the round of 16 has become a breath of fresh air for Indonesia. The reason is, of the two representatives who competed in this round, only Ginting was able to seal the place in the semifinals.
Before Ginting, there was Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin who opened Indonesia's appearance in the round of 16. However, when facing the three-seeded representatives from Malaysia, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik, the mixed doubles fell after passing through three games with a score of 21-18, 16-31, and 20-22.
In the semifinals later, Ginting, who will be the only representative for Indonesia, will face Thailand's seventh seed Kunlavut Vitidsarn.
The match will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday, June 10.
