South Kalimantan Provincial Government Designs Sustainable Construction Of Kotabaru Sea Island Bridge
BANJARMASIN - The Provincial Government of South Kalimantan is designing the sustainability of the bridge connecting the island of Kalimantan and Laut Island in Kotabaru in 2024.
South Kalimantan Provincial Secretary Roy Rizali Anwar in Banjarbaru, Tuesday, said that based on the direction of the Governor of South Kalimantan H Sahbirin Noor, the construction of the Liaison bridge for the island of Kalimantan and Laut Island is a priority.
"By the leadership's direction is a priority, budgeting starts in 2024, city districts are also asked to allocate," he said.
Roy said that the South Kalimantan Provincial Government will budget IDR 300 billion for the next 5 years starting from 2024. The City Regency will also budget IDR 100 billion for 5 years.
"While we are looking for other financing," he said.
Roy said that in the near future his party will prepare the signing of the MoU or a joint agreement related to the budget which will be held in 2024 to 5 years in the future.

Roy said that the Kotabaru area has a potential sea depth of 22 meters which is suitable for international ports.
In addition, there is also the Mekar Putih Special Economic Zone (SEZ), an area that will become an urban center with port services, warehousing, marine and tourism processing industries.
"Moreover, South Kalimantan has now declared itself the gateway to the capital city of the archipelago," he said.
As is known, the construction of the Sea Island Bridge, which has a main span of about 700 meters, began since the first period of South Kalimantan Governor H Rudy Ariffin (2005-2010) and placed a stake on Kotabaru Sea Island and Batulicin in the capital of Tanah Bumbu Regency.
