The Story Behind Royalty Of IDR 15 Million From Judika To Ahmad Dhani

JAKARTA - Judika's name was included in the direct license discussion last week, after Ahmad Dhani revealed proof of royalty payments obtained from Judika. Regarding his name which was included in the direct license discussion, Judika also revealed what really happened.

Judika admitted that she rarely performed Ahmad Dhani's songs in her appearance, but at that time the event organizers asked her specifically to perform the song written by the Dewa 19 frontman.

"I actually rarely perform the song Pakde (Ahmad Dhani), because there are problems. But yesterday's anniversary was Garuda, they asked (to perform Ahmad Dhani's song)," Judika told the media crew in Rawamangun, East Jakarta, Sunday, January 28.

After learning that the organizers had a special request, Judika informed that royalties payments for the songs delivered were handed over directly to Ahmad Dhani as the creator, because Dhani applied direct license for his songs.

"Then I said 'Garuda must pay', because Mas Dhani made this rule," said Judika.

"Yes, they have paid, so I've been singing. That's all, actually," he added.

Previously, Ahmad Dhani revealed one of the successful direct licenses applied to the songs he wrote. He showed proof of transfer from Judika as royalty payments made in December 2023.

In the proof of payment, the account in the name of Kreatan Kreatif Production transfers Rp15 million to an account in the name of Dhani Ahmad Prasetyo.

With the proof of the transfer, Dhani called Judika one example of a singer who is obedient to the Copyright Law.
