Selena Gomez's Rebuttal About Rumors Of Single Soon's Song About The Weeknd

Selena Gomez has dismissed rumors that her latest comeback song, Single Soon, is about The Weeknd.

Single Soon was released Friday, August 25 and in Gomez's lyrics talk about exchanging relations for his own freedom.

I'm pickin' out this dress / Tryin' on these shoes / Cause I'll be single soon / I'll be single soon, he sang, adding: I know he'll be a mess / When I break the news / But I'll be single soon.

After the song was released, many believed that the song was written about Abel Tesfaye - the real name of The Weeknd, but Gomez quickly denied the rumors. As is known, they briefly dated in 2017.

Replying to a post on Instagram, he simply wrote: 'Very wrong.'

Last week, Gomez announced that she would be releasing a new song as a way to get fans' attention as she tries to complete her third album.

Also via Instagram, he shared a photo of the song's artwork with the caption: You all have been asking for new music for a long time. Because I haven't finished with SG3, I want to release a fun little song that I wrote some time ago which was perfect for the end of the summer.

This pop singer previously shared the next musical direction after the release of the documentary AppleTV+, My Mind and Me.

The music I'm working on right now is about the real things I'm going through. It's very strong, strong, very pop. The theme in general is freedom of relationship, freedom from darkness," he said.
