Reasons For The Central MUI To Issue A Proposal Fatwa To Watch Hamka & Siti Raham Film (Vol 2)

The Central Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) issued a fatwa regarding an appeal to watch Hamka & Siti Raham (Vol 2) films. The fatwa was issued on December 17, 2023 and signed by the General Chairperson of the Central MUI, KH. M. Anwar Iskan and Secretary General of MUI, H. Amirsyah Tambunan. Dalam fatwa tersebut, Dewan Pimpinan MUI mengapresiasi film Hamka & Siti Raham (Vol 2) sebagai karya seni yang bagus dan eduktif. Mengandung nilai-nilai jelas ajaran Islam dan kebangsaan serta hururaan buhaya nusantara, sehingga perlu didukung oleh MUI seluruh tingkat wilayah dan daerah, serta para tokoh masyarakat, ulama dan dai serta para pimpinan pesantren dan lembaga pendidikan. "MUI really appreciates Hamka and Siti Raham (Vol 2) films, because Buya Hamka is not only the first MUI chairman but he is also a multi-national figure, ulama, fighters, culturalists and nationalists," said Erick Yusuf, S. Sy, M.Pd., Deputy Chairperson of the MUI LSBPI, in a press release received by VOI, Tuesday, December 19. "We appreciate it by issuing an official letter from the central MUI, an official letter of appeal to watch this Hamka & Siti Raham (Vol 2) film," he continued. Vino G Bastian, the main character in Hamka & Siti Raham (Vol 2), admitted that he was very happy with this Central MUI fatwa. They hope that this fatwa can encourage people to watch the film. "We are very happy with this Central MUI fatwa. This is an honor for us," said Vino Bastian.

Playing Siti Raham, Laudya Cynthia Bella is grateful to have the great support of the Indonesian Ulema Council. "Alhamdulillah, we have received support from MUI again. Hopefully with this fatwa, it will be an encouragement for us and the public to watch Hamka & Siti Raham (Vol 2) films," he explained. Hamka & Siti Raham will simultaneously air all Indonesian cinemas on December 21, 2023.
