76th Anniversary Of Indonesia's Independence Day, 1.942 Prisoners In Bali Get Remission

DENPASAR - A total of 1.942 inmates or correctional inmates (WBP) in Bali received remission. Giving remission related to the commemoration of the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum HAM) Bali Jamaruli Manihuruk said there were 1.906 inmates who received general remission I and 36 inmates who received general remission II or were immediately released.

to the rights that must be respected in accordance with Article 14 of Law no. 12 of 1995 concerning prisons", said Jamaruli at the Class IIA Penitentiary (LP) Kerobokan, Denpasar, Bali, Tuesday, August 17.

The remission is granted following the provisions of Law Number 12 of 1995 concerning Corrections and the Government Regulation concerning the terms and procedures for the implementation of the rights of prisoners in prison.

Jamaruli asserted that prisoners who received remission had met the requirements and behaved well.

"Of course, this remission is given to inmates who have met the criteria and provisions of the laws and regulations that apply during the coaching period in prison", he said.

According to Jamaruli, the inmates always take part in routine coaching activities in prisons, including training on animal husbandry, agriculture, catering, screen printing, painting, silver crafts, sewing, welding techniques, and several other coaching activities.

"This is important for them, after leaving the prison or remand center as a provision to be able to live normally and do better by not repeating their crime. So, later they are ready to be accepted back in the community", said Jamaruli.
