Tanah Abang JPM Managers Continue To Increase Merchant Retribution Despite Mass Rejection

Sarana Jaya as the manager of traders on the Tanah Abang multipurpose crossing bridge (JPM), Central Jakarta, continues to increase the price of levies on business premises for hundreds of JPM traders.

"This adjustment has only been made again five years ago, of course with this adjustment there will be improvements, changes in facilities to make it more comfortable for our merchant partners," said Sarana Jaya Public Relations Officer Tika Permata when confirmed, Sunday, January 21.

He said, every time there was an adjustment related to the rental price, it was always colored by pros and cons. His party has also made notifications at the beginning to circulars to traders' partners at JPM Tanah Abang.

According to Tika, the change in rental prices takes into account various aspects, including positive and negative impacts.

"There will be improvements and plans to change facilities, so that they become comfortable for traders and buyers later," he said.

The monthly rental price is set from IDR 560,000 to IDR 1,443,000.

"Currently, out of 446 traders' partners at JPM Tanah Abang, 200 people have submitted forms and Alhamdulillah 200 people have been received, 45 people have signed rental contracts," he said.

Previously, it was reported that a number of relocation traders at the Multipurpose Goods Bridge (JPM) Jalan Jati Baru, Tanah Abang Market, Central Jakarta refused to pay an increase in retribution prices which reached 200 percent. Traders said the increase in levies was without deliberation to traders.

"We reject the nearly 200 percent increase in levies. We hope the manager will hear the objections of JPM traders," said one of the JPM traders at Tanah Abang Market, Thursday, January 18.

If the management continues to increase it, it is certain that JPM traders will close access to Jalan Jatibaru which is right under JPM.

"If Monday there are still no changes and they survive, of course we will close the road," he threatened.
