Five Cars Hit By A Canopy At Yogyakarta Station During Heavy Rain

YOGYAKARTA - Five cars were hit by a drop zone canopy on the south side of Yogyakarta Station which fell due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds.

"The fallen canopy hit five customer cars and the car suffered minor damage," said Public Relations Manager Daop 6 Yogyakarta Krisbiyantoro as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 4.

According to him, the canopy fell when the Yogyakarta Station area was hit by heavy rain accompanied by strong winds.

"Due to heavy rain and strong winds, the supporting poles made of iron pipes were bent and broken so that the canopy fell down," he said.

"The owners of the vehicle have been delivered to a safe place and have been mutually agreed that the KAI Group will bear all the damage suffered by the affected customers," he said.

He ensured that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident and did not interfere with the train (KA) journey at Yogyakarta Station.

"Daop 6 apologizes for the inconvenience experienced by all customers at Yogyakarta Station," said Krisbiyantoro.
