Garut Satpol PP Checks Support Video Maker Members For Gibran

JAKARTA - The Civil Service Police Unit of Garut Regency, West Java, examined video makers and unscrupulous members of the institution in a video of support for vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"Currently it is related to the video, we are currently processing it with the provost of the Garut Satpol PP," said Head of Human Resources of the Garut Regency Satpol PP Tubagus Agus Sofyan in a written statement reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 2.

Tubagus deeply regrets the incident, especially since the Garut Satpol PP has declared a pledge of neutrality in the 2024 General Election.

He stated that the Garut Satpol PP moved quickly to deal with the problem by calling everyone in the video. Regarding when the video was made, the Garut Satpol PP was still investigating further.

"We cannot confirm when the video was made, but it is possible that before the pledge. The video is expected to be taken at one of the posts in the city center," said Tubagus.

According to him, the status of all employees in the video is not the state civil apparatus (ASN), both civil servants (PNS) and government employees with a work agreement (PPPK).

Even though their status is not an ASN, Tubagus still regrets it because they are on behalf of and use the Satpol PP uniform.

However, he reiterated that he did not know for sure the chronology of the video was made. "We will also investigate who the video maker is, I'm afraid someone from the party will lure him. We are conducting an investigation, we will make sure the Satpol PP is neutral," he asserted.

Previously, a viral video circulated on social media showing a number of people suspected of being members of the Garut Regency Satpol PP expressing their indirectly support for the vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

The narrative is conveyed that Indonesia needs young leaders in the future. Before conveying this, the spokesperson in the video said they came from the Garut Regency Civil Service Police Assistance Communication Forum.
