Microsoft Launches Reading Coach, Helps Children Learn To Read With AI Support

JAKARTA - Microsoft introduced the Reading Coach, a personalized and AI-generatively-supported reading learning tool for students, which is free of use by anyone who has a Microsoft account.

From now on, the Reading Coach can be accessed on the coach.microsoft.com website in preview. Microsoft said that its launch in the Windows app will be coming soon.

"Reading Coach has provided students with personalized reading practices, instant feedback on pronunciation and smoothness, as well as providing insight back to educators," the company said in an announcement on its blog.

Furthermore, the Reading Coach was built based on Reading Progress, a plug-in for the education-focused Microsoft Teams version, Teams for Education, which is designed to help teachers increase reading efficacy in their students.

In addition, the Reading Coach takes a unique approach to implement personalized generative AI. Where, students can choose the protagonist of the story, its background, and are given a choice that changes the storyline when they read.

There is no need to worry about the safety of students, because the tech giant said that the content of the story being moderated in the Reading Coach has been guaranteed quality, safety, and age suitability.

"And in addition to making a story supported by AI, students can also choose the flattened part of the curated ReadWorks library," he added.

After training, students will also be able to open up new stories and characters, get badges, as a reward for their learning efforts. They can also increase their pronunciation and feasibility in progress reports.
