The Police Remind Residents Who Use Fake PCR/Antigen Test Result Letters Can Be Sanctioned

JAKARTA - The police have warned the public not to use fake certificates of antigen test results and PCR swabs. If caught using a fake letter, criminal sanctions will be applied.

"Obviously it can (criminal sanctions), what they use is fake for travel", said the Head of Public Relations of the Regional Police (Polda) Metro Jaya Commissioner Yusri Yunus to reporters, Monday, July 19.

Commissioner Yusri said that those who used fake letters related to COVID-19 could be accused of having multiple articles. One of them is with Law Number 4 of 1984 concerning Outbreaks of Infectious Diseases.

"One more thing, in the Criminal Code, there is also Article 264 for falsification of authentic data, we can give sanctions", he said.

Therefore, the public is advised not to use fake documents and not to travel. If you have to travel, you are asked to follow the rules.

The police previously arrested two perpetrators for forging documents related to COVID-19 through social media. A total of 6 perpetrators have been arrested in cases of falsification of COVID-19 documents.

"Six people as we have told. Yesterday there were 4 and now there are 2 more because they easily make fake vaccine cards and fake antigen letters, as well as several cards including Social Security Administration (BPJS) cards, PCR from various reports and hospitals. Where they market it through social media and their respective accounts", said Yusri.
