Vice President Affirms Bureaucracy Simplification Must Be Transparent And Fair

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin asked all relevant ranks to simplify the bureaucracy in a transparent and fair manner so as not to harm the state civil apparatus (ASN).

"I would like to remind that the simplification of the bureaucracy must be carried out carefully, objectively, transparently, fairly, and using the principle of prudence," said Vice President Ma'ruf while chairing the Coordination Meeting of the National Bureaucratic Reform Steering Committee (KPBRN) quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 15.

The simplification principle, continued by the Vice President, aims not to interfere with the performance of ministries and non-ministerial government institutions (K/L) after going through bureaucratic reform.

"This is so as not to interfere with organizational performance and not harm ASN in terms of income and careers," he added.

The Vice President asked that the process of simplifying the bureaucracy in K/L should not only be carried out to fulfill procedures. Bureaucratic reform must be able to change the mindset of ASN to be more professional in carrying out their duties as public servants.

"Don't just fulfill procedural requirements, but must change the mindset of our ASN so that it is oriented towards the impact or outcome of efficiency and professionalism," said the Vice President.

Vice President Ma'ruf Amin as the Chair of the KPBRN has appointed Eko Prasojo as the Executive Secretary of the KPBRN in charge of monitoring, evaluating, analyzing problems, and providing recommendations related to efforts to accelerate bureaucratic reform.
