After Supporting Ganjar, PDIP-PPP Meets On Sunday This Week

JAKARTA - The PDI-P (PDIP) will hold a meeting with the United Development Party (PPP) on Sunday, April 30. They will discuss cooperation after the party bearing the symbol of the Kaaba gives support to the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate (candidate) in the 2024 presidential election. PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said Plt General Chairperson of PPP Muhamad Mardiono would lead the group. Cooperation discussions will be conducted directly. "At 14.00 WIB, we will receive Mr. Mardiono and the PPP management at the PDI-P DPP office," said Hasto in a written statement, Friday, April 28. Even though he only met on Sunday, Hasto said that political communication had been established. Later, this group will be met by PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. "Communication via telephone has been carried out. Sunday will be the first chance to meet Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri to strengthen political cooperation," he said. With this meeting, Hasto hopes that the two parties can work together to strengthen the presidential system. PDIP wants PPP to help win Ganjar in the 2024 presidential election. "It is believed that the cooperation with PPP is very positive, and further strengthens the energy of winning the 2024 presidential election. All cooperation between political parties is carried out through Party communication with the Party," said Hasto. Furthermore, Hasto said that his party still opens opportunities for political cooperation to win Ganjar. There are several conditions, first, they support the government of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)-Ma'ruf Amin. However, this requirement does not apply to parties that first declare support without communicating. Next, the party that joins has the same ideology and future agenda.
