Commission V Of The House Of Representatives Reminds The Importance Of Security Socialization During Eid Homecoming

JAKARTA - Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives reminded the Government and relevant stakeholders to carry out a security and health campaign for people who carry out the 1444 H Eid Al-Fitr homecoming. Security and health campaigns are important to ensure the smooth running of the Eid homecoming.

"The enthusiasm of the community in traveling for Eid homecoming needs to be guarded by the government by ensuring standby posts to monitor traffic conditions and motorist order," said Chairman of Commission V DPR, Lasarus, Tuesday, April 18.

"The government also needs to carry out security and health campaigns so that all travelers remain vigilant while driving," he added.

As is known, a number of toll roads have been crowded with vehicles that have been leaving the capital since yesterday. The DPR Commission in charge of infrastructure and transportation reminded the relevant ministries and agencies as well as toll service providers to pay attention to facilities for travelers.

"On the streets, it is necessary to ensure the availability of rest areas with free vehicle checking facilities at several points so that motorists can ensure the readiness of physical conditions while driving and also ensure the condition of the vehicle remains good," said Lasarus.

Furthermore, officers in the field are asked to really anticipate traffic jams on the homecoming route. According to Lasarus, various obstacles that occur must be addressed immediately so as not to hinder the flow of homecoming.

Not only that, Lasarus also requested that the implementation of traffic engineering on toll roads not interfere with traffic flow on arterial routes. The one way homecoming system in the toll road area is also reminded to continue to be socialized to the public.

"The principle is that the convenience for travelers does not have a bad impact on other road users," Lasarus said.

Meanwhile, to travelers, the DPR reminded them to continue to be vigilant when driving during the Lebaran homecoming period. Lasarus appealed to travelers to rest when they were tired.

"If you are tired or sleepy, don't be forced to drive. Take a break so that the homecoming trip can run smoothly to your hometown," said the legislator from the West Kalimantan II electoral district.

Lasarus also asked travelers and bus drivers to be aware of areas prone to congestion. Commission V of the DPR hopes that agencies in the regions will deal with traffic jams so that they do not hinder the arrival of travelers when they arrive in the area.

"Good cooperation between agencies is expected to minimize problems when the Eid homecoming flow takes place. The local government needs to prepare the best scenario when travelers flock to enter their area," said Lasarus.

Commission V of the DPR also asked the Government to conduct periodic evaluations during the Lebaran homecoming period, especially the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) and the National Police. With careful preparation, Lasarus hopes that the number of accidents in this year's Eid homecoming flow can be reduced.

"Of course, all of them require good synergy from all parties, including cooperation from the homecoming community itself," he said.

In addition to the flow of road homecoming, Lasarus reminded the Government to pay optimal attention to travelers who use other modes of transportation. Both air, sea, and rail transportation modes.

"The comfort and security of the community must be a priority. We hope that the Indonesian people can celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families with a happy heart," concluded Lasarus.
