Bakrie & Brother Supports The Use Of Green Energy Through Formula E

JAKARTA - PT Bakrie & Brother Tbk (BNBR) shows its seriousness in promoting transitional efforts towards green energy, among others, by supporting the Envision Racing Formula E Team in the Jakarta E-Prix ABB Formula E World Championship 2023.

The Silverstone Park-based team, England, is a 0 team under the world's leading green technology company and net-zero emission technology provider, Envision Group, which is now partnering with BNBR.

"Envision Group consistently promotes wind and solar energy as 'new coal', batteries and hydrogen as 'new earth oil', and artificial intelligence of technology or AIoT as 'new network solutions'," said BNBR President Director & CEO Anindya Bakrie on the sidelines of the Formula E event as stated in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 5.

According to him, the slogan "Fomala" E, namely We are Racing Against the Climate Crisis, means symbolic, which is currently racing against climate change.

He added that his party supports cooperation with the Envision Group, because through this collaboration, at least his party can start encouraging Indonesia to transform towards a greener future.

"The first net zero industrial area in Southeast Asia to be built in South Sulawesi will be used to process nickel material to then be processed at the Giga Factory under the Envision Group spread across the UK, Spain, France, and also the United States, this is globalization in its best form," said Anin, Anindya's nickname.

Anin said that his party also plans to cooperate in AIoT which is also the backbone for the development of green energy ecosystems and electric vehicles.

"We see the possibility of developing net zero digital solutions in Indonesia, by utilizing a system that has been created by Envision Digital comprehensively. The portion of the digital aspect of the green industry revolution is so large, not many people even know that in every electric vehicle there are at least 3,000 chips, very digital," he said.

Envision Group founder and CEO Lei Zhang said together with BNBR, his party would develop the first net zero industrial park in Southeast Asia, which will be built in South Sulawesi.

The carbon-neutral industrial area will use green energy, such as wind power and solar, to be used in nickel ore refining, refining, and battery material manufacturing and battery recycling activities.

"So, we are not only building an energy ecosystem, but also bringing the battery ecosystem with Bakrie to Indonesia," said Lei.

Furthermore, he explained that among a number of countries in Southeast Asia, Indonesia was chosen because it had an extraordinary future.

"Indonesia has abundant natural resources underground such as nickel, copper, and luna, as well as natural resources above the ground such as wind, solar and hydro energy," said Lei.
