Prosecutor's Office Detains Former Aceh Regent Tamiang Suspect Of Land Corruption
BANDA ACEH - Aceh High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) investigators detained the former Aceh Tamiang Regent with the initials M who is a suspect in the alleged land corruption crime.
Daily Executor (Plh) Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section of the Aceh Attorney General's Office, Deddy Taufik, said that apart from M, investigators also detained two other suspects, namely TY and TR.
"The three suspects are detained for the next 20 days at the Class II B Detention Center in Banda Aceh. Detention is for investigation purposes," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 6.
M is the Regent of Aceh Tamiang for the 2017-2022 period. Determination of M as a suspect in his capacity as Head of the State Land Agency (BPN) of Aceh Tamiang Regency in 2009.
Deddy Taufik said the chronology of the case began when the suspect TR in 2009, as the management of the plantation company PT Desa Jaya, applied for a certificate of property rights on state land.
The land is located in Aceh Tamiang Regency, close to the land of former business rights (HGU) PT Jaya Alur Meranti Village. The purpose of the application for a certificate is to get payment from land acquisition for the benefit of the construction of the Aceh Tamiang Makodim.

"However, the land is state land, TR assisted by M as the Head of BPN makes a request for ownership of land rights with the aim of farming and gardening," he said.
Then, the land certificate was issued. A few days later, the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government compensated TR for the land with a value of Rp. 6.43 billion. Meanwhile, TY is suspected of receiving compensation money for the land for the construction of the Aceh Tamiang Makodim.
"In addition, the suspect also received illegal profits from PT Desa Jaya Alur Meranti and PT Desa Jaya Alur Jambu from plantation businesses without HGU and plantation business permits on state land," said Deddy Taufik.
