JAKARTA - Nintendo and DeNa have announced that starting October 4, the game Mario Kart Tour will no longer receive new content, in any form including new tracks, carts, or drivers.

Through a message sent to the player, which was discovered by NintendoWire, Nintendo said it would not turn off the game. But only stop updating content.

"There are no new lanes, drivers, cars, or planes to add after Battle Tour starts at 04/10/2023," the message reads. We hope you will continue to enjoy playing Mario Kart Tour.

Mario Kart Tour itself was launched in 2019. However, by stopping updating this content, it seems that the game failed to make a breakthrough because Nintendo is reportedly disappointed with its mobile gaming business which includes Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp with Mario Kart Tour.

However, the reasons behind this decision are still unclear now, but some online speculation suggests that this may be a developmental clue for Mario Kart 9.

Launching GamingBolt, Mario Kart Tour is not the only Nintendo mobile game title whose support is stopped faster than expected.

Nintendo has also taken the same steps to several other titles including Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost. Likewise with Super Mario Run who appeared under Nintendo's expectations.
